Ordering terms
Last updated 16 October 2026
These terms cover orders placed for collection on this website.
Online ordering is not available yet. This website cannot take orders yet, so these terms are published for information and will apply once ordering opens.
Who we are
You are buying from CHICKEN MEWS LTD, trading as Chicken Mews. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16131302. Registered office: 520 Filton Avenue, Horfield, Bristol, United Kingdom, BS7 0QE. You can reach us on 0117 969 7999, by email at chickenmewsfilton@gmail.com, or at the restaurant. VAT No. GB 488 3256 50.
Placing an order
You choose your items, enter your name and mobile number, and send the order. Sending an order is an offer to buy. A contract is made when we accept your order, which your order page shows as accepted. Until then we may decline it.
Collection only
Orders are for collection from the restaurant. We do not deliver. Please give your name or order number when you collect.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown on the menu and again at checkout. The total at checkout is what you pay. We do not add a service charge.
Pay online. You pay by card on our payment provider's secure page. Your order reaches the kitchen once the payment is confirmed. We never see or store your card details. If a payment fails or is not completed, no order is made and you are not charged. An unpaid order is cancelled automatically after 30 minutes.
Pay at counter. Where this is offered, you pay when you collect, by cash or card at the counter. See “Pay at Counter and uncollected orders” below.
Collection time
The time shown is an estimate set by the kitchen, not a guarantee. It can change when we are busy. Your order page shows the latest time we give you.
If an item is unavailable, or we cannot make your order
If an item is unavailable we will contact you on the number you gave. We will only substitute something if you agree. If we reject your order, or cannot make it, we will tell you. Where a refund is due, it will be issued to the original payment method without undue delay. How long it takes to appear depends on the payment provider or your bank.
Cancelling
To cancel, call us as soon as you can. If we have not started preparing your order we will cancel it, and any refund due will be issued as set out above. Once we have started, we may be unable to cancel.
Your food is prepared fresh to order and is liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. For that reason the 14-day right to cancel that applies to many online purchases does not apply to it once we have accepted your order (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, regulation 28). This does not affect your other legal rights.
Problems with your food
If your food is not as described, is not of satisfactory quality, or something is missing, tell us as soon as possible, ideally before you leave the restaurant or the same day, so we can put it right. You keep all your legal rights, including a refund or a replacement where the law gives them to you.
Collecting your order
Hot food is best eaten soon after it is ready. Please collect your order promptly once it is ready. We cannot keep food hot or fresh for long, and we may not be able to refund an order that is not collected unless the delay was ours.
Pay at Counter and uncollected orders
If you select Pay at Counter, you agree to pay the full order amount when collecting your food.
Please provide a valid contact number and collect your order promptly once it is ready.
If you can no longer collect your order, please contact Chicken Mews as soon as possible. Orders may be cancelled without charge if preparation has not started.
If an order has already been prepared and is not collected, we may record it as uncollected and contact you to resolve the matter.
To reduce food waste and repeated losses, Chicken Mews may require advance online payment for future orders following repeated confirmed non-collections. Any such decision will be reviewed fairly.
We will not automatically charge your card or impose fixed no-show penalties.
These conditions do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Food allergies
If you have an allergy or intolerance, call us before you order. See our allergen information. Our kitchen handles many ingredients, so we cannot guarantee that any dish is free from an allergen.
Your personal data
See our privacy notice.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear a dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep any rights you have under the law where you live.
